Despite all my talk of falafel and fries, I just wanted to provide an update that yes, the resolutions are still on track. It's kind of a miracle, considering April is only days away. Usually by April I can't even remember what I promised to do. (One year I resolved to exercise ten minutes A WEEK and I'm pretty sure I failed by February.)
10 weeks of no diet cokes. As of this morning I've lost 40 pounds. (Unrelated. Or are they?) Were there more? That seems like enough. Oh right - no sugar. Hmm - not going as well as the others but still an improvement on the past. Still no bread, pasta, etc. The occasional girl scout cookie does find it's way into my life, but I think not eating them by the sleeve box is excellent progress.
I look in the mirror and don't see it. I guess I don't really look in the mirror often, to be honest. Especially during the last year where I was adding on that 40 to begin with. I prefer to imagine it was never there at all. But my belt has gone down 4 notches -- one more and I'll have to buy a new one -- so I guess it really happened.
I still don't have a huge closet of old clothes to choose from. The last time I weighed [redacted] I was probably in my 2nd trimester and wearing maternity pants. Maybe by summer I'll be digging in those old rubbermaid tubs and pulling out the classics of yesteryear. Because the second 40 pounds totally comes off as quickly as the first, right? Until then I've got my trusty two pair of pants to see me through.
What really blows my mind is the shoes. Today I wore shoes that didn't even fit the day I bought them several years ago. Apparently the first 40 pounds was all in my feet and my waist. Can I place requests for the next 40?
Nothing annoys me more than bloggers who go on and on about the exercise tape they bought but aren't using or their desire to lose that last 5 lbs so they can be a si
ze 8 again. Puke. This will be all you get from me for awhile. You'll just have to stand by and watch for me to post the rare picture of myself and count the rings around my chin to estimate my progress.

Resolution update
At first I thought this looked like just the right amount to illustrate what I used to drink every day. Then I realized it was about 28 oz short.

I don't have a really great memory, but I was wondering about the CAR. Wasn't one of your resolutions to be thrifty? How does a trip to Germany to pick up a new Beamer fit into that? I'm just curious. . . :-)
Oh right - that one!
My main resolution was to pay off my massive credit card debt. I'm about halfway there which isn't so bad for the 3rd month of the year.
The car is a whole other story!
